Aberdeen Performing Arts has revealed the latest set of blockbuster shows coming to the city across 2025 and 2026.

The arts charity have announced Death on the Nile, Scots the Musical, A Night at the Musicals, Girls Night Oot 2, Scottish Ballet’s brand new production of Mary, Queen of Scots, will all perform at His Majesty’s Theatre.

Aberdeen Performing Arts director of programming and creative projects Ben Torrie said: “We are really excited by our latest announcement as these performances all bring something special to Aberdeen.

"Death on the Nile builds on the popularity of our recent Poirot and Scottish Ballet’s Mary, Queen of Scots will be a spectacular production.

"If you love a good night out, look no further than A Night at the Musicals, Scots the Musical and Girls Night Oot, which are all set to bring a lot of fun to the city!”

Following on from the hugely popular Murder on the Orient Express, the latest instalment in the Poirot series, Death on the Nile, will play from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 February.

On board a luxurious cruise under the heat of the Egyptian sun, a couple’s idyllic honeymoon is cut short by a brutal murder. As secrets that have been buried in the sands of time finally resurface, can the world-famous detective, Hercule Poirot, untangle the web of lies and solve another crime?

Scottish Ballet return with their new production, which is set to stun audiences from Thursday 2 October to Saturday 4 October 2025 following its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival. This major new production from choreographer-in-residence Sophie Laplane and co-creator, James Bonas (The Crucible), draws on the complex relationship between Mary, Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I of England.

Laplane’s bold choreography blends classicism with modernity, reshaping a familiar story with powerful originality. Two women. Two crowns. One story. As death approaches, Elizabeth I of England is haunted by memories – real and imagined – of her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots. An iconic story, unconventionally told, adding to the canon of rich, contemporary repertoire that is uniquely Scottish Ballet.

Scots the Musical follows ecstatic reviews from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and will now tour across Scotland and comes to His Majesty’s Theatre on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April 2026.

SCOTS is an irreverent, hilarious and poignant journey through the history of Scotland in sixty riotous minutes. A multi-skilled ensemble retell some of our nation's most iconic (and some forgotten) stories, all to answer the fundamental question: What makes a country?

A Night at the Musical returns for one night only on Wednesday 8 October to perform the hits from the musicals. Join a first-class professional cast as they sing some of the best show tunes from London's West End and Broadway. The fabulous four singers will play songs from shows such as Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, and many more.

Girls Night Oot 2 is a new instalment of the much loved smash hit show.
