learndirect has delivered computer based tests since 2005 via a network of test centres located in the UK and was recently awarded the UK Government’s Computer Based Testing Framework. This involves the delivery of a number of contracts on behalf of the UK Government, including the Driving Licence Theory test from September 2016 – a contract which delivers around 2m tests per annum.

As a result of significant growth within the eAssessment sector, learndirect is undertaking a procurement exercise to ensure that candidates are offered:
- a flexible and convenient location at which to take their test – test centre locations are required in the UK in the first instance; additional locations globally may be required in the future;
- a wide range of times at which to take their test
- a secure environment to take the test
- a consistently high quality customer experience regardless of the test centre location.
