Leading Aberdeenshire property developer Deveron Homes has been getting into the festive spirit by making a donation to charity.
As part of the Huntly-based company’s ongoing commitment to help good causes, a presentation was made to Aberdeen’s Special Nursery Neonatal Unit. The money will help with the provision of essential care and support for new parents and newborn infants who, in their early days, are nursed in the Unit.
The receiving organisation was chosen thanks to Deveron Homes’ Helping Hand At Christmas social media campaign which sought views and suggestions on where the money should be sent. This year hundreds of supporters of Aberdeen’s Neonatal Unit pushed their charity to the top of the list with a massive 2,842 votes.
Deveron Homes’ sales director Lynne Holburn explained: “As an alternative to sending company Christmas cards, we donated the equivalent cash to this very good cause. We are delighted that so many people got behind the social media campaign to choose where the money would go.”
Aileen Duncan, chairman of the charity added: “This money will be a welcome boost to our funds. The Special Nursery looks after the sickest and most premature babies so we’re very grateful for this donation.”
