Thousands of people have just a week left to contribute to an online survey on possible long-term improvements to a major North-east commuter route.
Over four hundred responses have been received to an online survey of users of the A947 Banff-Aberdeen road in the seven weeks it has been open.
Aberdeenshire Council is developing a Route Improvement Strategy which will shape how the road is developed over the next 20 years.
The online survey was set up to give motorists and communities across the route the chance to have their say easily on how it could be improved.
It has been designed to understand existing concerns about the route and determine improvements users would like to see over the long term and is part of a wider consultation and engagement programme currently being undertaken.
The deadline has been extended by a week to September 14 to allow anyone who wants to influence the future development of the route to take part.
Chairman of the council’s Infrastructure Services Committee (ISC), David Aitchison, said: “We know from experience that there is a wide range of views on what could or should be done with this road to make it better and safer, and I would encourage anyone who drives the route on a regular basis but has not yet contributed to give their input.”
ISC vice chair, Stephen Smith, said: “This consultation provides a valuable opportunity for communities along the A947 to provide feedback.
“If they take part this will help to increase our understanding of the route, supporting the development of targeted improvements.”
