Runners from AGCC member businesses hoping to enter a team in Run Garioch’s NFU Mutual 10K and be the first to win the new ‘Chamber Cup’ are urged to sign up before Sunday night’s deadline.
Fewer than 50 places remain in the event (Sunday, 11 May), meaning all available entries will soon be gone, as runners race to book their spots on the start line.
Runners keen to take on one of the event’s other challenges, including the Mackie’s 5K and McWilliam Lippe Half-Marathon, are also encouraged to get their entries in well before the deadline to be assured of a place.
To be in with a chance to win the new NFU Mutual 10K AGCC Cup, runners only need to state the name of the member organisation they work for as well as the name of their team of four when registering online. Runners who’ve already entered the event can update their details online to add a team name or ask RGHQ (info@rungarioch.co.uk) for assistance.
All four runners’ times will count for the calculation of the winning team – who will also have a donation made to one of Run Garioch’s six official charities on their behalf.
The new competition complements Run Garioch’s longstanding AB51 Business Challenge, open to runners from all AB51-based firms.
Run Garioch’s race director, Graham Morrison, said: “The AGCC Chamber Cup is a great addition to Run Garioch in what will be the 10K’s twentieth year. We hope it will provide a little bit of friendly competition – as well as fun and motivation – for runners from the Chamber’s 1300 member organisations.
"We’re grateful to NFU Mutual Aberdeen City & Shire for providing the charitable donation for the winning team and wish all teams taking part the best of luck.”
All funds raised at Run Garioch support the work of Inverurie’s Garioch Sports Centre and many local charities.
