After great success in 2024, Oilfast has announced that the La Sierra Casa scholarship is back for 2025, and this time it is extending the scholarship to England and Wales!
For those unfamiliar with the camp, the La Sierra Casa scholarship is funded by the Oilfast Trust Fund, which was established to support aspiring songwriters from low-income backgrounds.
This initiative gives songwriters the chance to follow in the footsteps of past successful camp attendees, such as Ben Walker and Cammy Barnes. Through the fund, Oilfast are able to offer scholarships that cover the cost of the camp, accommodation, food, and more.
What is La Sierra Casa?
La Sierra Casa is a prestigious songwriting retreat based in southern Spain, co-founded by Kyle Falconer of The View and Michael Ward, a veteran of Scotland’s music scene. The retreat provides a space for musicians to collaborate, create, and refine their skills alongside some of the best in the industry!
Exciting news for 2025!
Oilfast is offering a scholarship for the upcoming Jamie Webster and Kyle Falconer songwriting camp on 21st April 2025! If you're an aspiring musician looking to develop your skills in an immersive and inspiring environment, this is your chance! Applications are now open, offering a fully funded place on the camp.

Success stories from last year’s winners
Last year, Oilfast awarded scholarships to Kieran Fisher and John Harrison. Both winners loved the camp, highlighting the one-on-one time with Kyle Falconer as especially valuable and mentioning it felt “surreal”. From building their confidence to learning new songwriting techniques, Kieran and John left the camp with a fresh vision and renewed drive for the future.
Since then, Kieran is close to releasing a new album, while John recently supported Kyle Falconer at HMV Dundee! Who knows where this opportunity could take you? Apply now below!*
