Junior Chamber International Aberdeen (“JCIA” or “JCI Aberdeen”) is this week set to host an important meeting of European Presidents of the worldwide organisation for young active citizens, Junior Chamber International (“JCI”).

The 80 delegates will arrive on Wednesday for the three day event, attended by high level dignitaries from across the worldwide JCI organisation, hosted at the Marriott Hotel in Dyce, near Aberdeen. The delegates include Presidents from 35 JCI national organisations across Europe, as well as Canada, South Africa and Japan.

“We are proud to host this important annual event again on behalf of JCI,” said Project Director, Elaine Cleary, from JCI Aberdeen. “We are especially excited and delighted to welcome newly-appointed JCI World President Paschal Dike from Nigeria, as our VIP guest and keynote speaker at the event.”

JCIA won the right to host this prestigious event after submitting a bid and competing against other JCI chapters in Europe. In fact, this will be the third time the event has been held in Aberdeen. The previous occasions were in 1977, under the leadership of Conference Director, David Burnside, and also in 1983 as part of the European Conference hosted by Conference Director, Fred Dalgarno.

In addition to the main meeting agenda, delegates will also be involved in workshops such as “Sustainable leaders creating impact” and learning about the new JCI global community initiative, Peace is Possible. The closing dinner will be held at the Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel.
