JCE Group is proud to announce the celebrate 25 years at its purpose-built headquarters, JCE House.
This anniversary marks not only a quarter of a century in their Blackburn location but also highlights its ongoing success, resilience, and commitment to both its industry and community.
Founded in 1988, JCE has grown steadily over the years. In 1999, JCE moved to JCE House to accommodate its growing operations in ATEX and safe area electrical control systems. The custom-built headquarters has since served as a global base for designing, manufacturing, and delivering critical systems. The company also expanded by opening a manufacturing facility in Plymouth 36 years ago.
Over the years, the company has successfully navigated industry challenges, from fluctuating oil prices to global economic shifts, securing its role as a key player in the sector. In recent years, the growing focus on renewables has become a major part of JCE’s strategy. The company has diversified into the renewable energy sector with great success, leveraging its key products and core strengths to support both new clients in the renewables industry and existing clients in oil and gas as they transition to cleaner energy solutions.
Since moving into JCE House, the company has experienced tremendous growth. The team has doubled in size, and it has maintained a strong focus on employee retention, with many senior staff and apprentices remaining with the company for decades. Long-serving employees, like Frank Maes, JCE’s technical director, who will soon be retiring after 35 years of service, exemplify the loyalty and dedication that JCE fosters.
As the company has grown, so has its headquarters. JCE House has expanded with the addition of offices, a canteen, an engineering and digital lab, and further expansion of their stores facilities.
Beyond the business achievements, JCE is dedicated to supporting the local community. It has regularly sponsored local football teams, pipe bands, and initiatives connected to employees, keeping their community engagement “close to home” and maintaining a strong connection to their roots. The company is also committed to supporting the Grampian MS Centre as they have done over the years.
As JCE moves forward, its goals remain ambitious: increasing turnover, expanding the workforce, and diversifying into new sectors. The heart of its operations, JCE House, will continue to drive innovation and collaboration.
Reflecting on the company’s achievements, the JCE’s Chairman, Jim Craig shared: "From our Blackburn headquarters, we have proudly designed, manufactured, and delivered world-class ATEX and safe area electrical control systems to clients across the globe. The journey to this milestone has been shaped by the unwavering dedication and expertise of our incredible team, as well as the trust and support of our customers and partners.”

As we celebrate 25 years in JCE House, we look ahead to the next chapter of growth, innovation, and continued excellence. Here's to the future and another 25 years of success!”
