Having recently celebrated National Apprentice Week, iO have reflected on welcoming their newest team member, Taylor Lamont, who joined iO as a systems consultant on her second year of apprenticeship.
Due to a number of customer contracts wins, iO have actively recruited new operations staff to accommodate the continual growth over the last year.
Taylor is the second member of staff iO have supported through an apprenticeship and reflecting on the experience, director Dave McCready has said: “Supporting an Apprentice is a fantastically rewarding experience for any business, and for the apprentice it’s a great way to receive funding towards their continual learning.”
“We feel very fortunate to be able to expand our team whilst also mentoring IT professionals and help them progress their careers.”
Taylor joins iO from her previous role as digital services apprentice at Opito where Taylor learnt a great deal about IT support, cybersecurity and cloud technologies.
Reflecting on her experience so far Taylor remarks: “I love my apprenticeship and working at iO IT Services. Getting hands-on experience while learning about cybersecurity has been fascinating—I’m constantly picking up new skills like risk assessment and threat analysis while seeing how everything fits together in the real world. The team at iO is great too; they’re supportive, knowledgeable, and always up for a challenge. Every day brings something different.”
