Food, arts, crafts, textiles and much more from across Europe will be on offer at an array of stalls organised by Groupe Geraud, Europe’s leading street market company, in association with Aberdeen City Council.

The market will be open at the following times:

  • 9am-6pm on Thursday, April 28, Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30
  • 10am-5pm on Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2

Aberdeen City Council's Deputy Leader, Councillor Marie Boulton, said: “Aberdeen’s international street market offers people living here in the city the chance to enjoy the foods, crafts and much more from countries across Europe right on their own doorstep.

“We want to encourage residents and visitors to Aberdeen to come into the city centre, and be enticed by the wonderful aromas of different foods, the colourful displays of flowers and the textiles, and to enjoy chatting to the stallholders from across Europe.”

John McInnes, business development manager, Groupe Geraud said: “The international market has been a big hit in Europe thanks to the atmosphere and buzz it creates, and we are sure it will go down a treat in Aberdeen.”

To coincide with the street market and to encourage people to come in to the city centre over the weekend free parking will be available at Marischal College. The car park will be open to the public at the following times:

  • 9am -6pm on Saturday, April 30
  • 9am-5pm on Sunday, May 1

Anyone planning on visiting the city centre is reminded that there are also bus and Park & Ride services available.

The following temporary traffic restrictions will be in place to ensure public safety while the street market is in the city:

From 5am on Thursday, April 28 until 6am on Tuesday, May 3, Union Terrace will be closed from its junction with Union Street to its junction with Rosemount Viaduct, including the slip road at the Wallace statue.

From 6pm on Wednesday, April 27 until 6am on Tuesday, May 3 no parking will be permitted along the full length of Union Terrace from its junction with Union Street to the junction with Rosemount Viaduct including the slip road at the Wallace statue.
