Infinity Partnership supports next generation of accountants

Four members of the team at award-winning accountancy firm Infinity Partnership are taking the next step to becoming fully qualified.

Emma Dykes and Jane Gordon are aiming to become ACCA (association of chartered certified accountants) qualified accountants, while Robert Gordon University graduates Suzannah Smith and Liam McGrath hope to become Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualified. Suzannah and Liam both earned degrees in accounting and finance.

The recent recruits will work closely with the Aberdeen firm’s associate partner Greg Houston who led the process for Infinity to become an ACCA-accredited employer, a platinum-level ACCA approved trainer and a Practising Certificate Approved Employer.

Greg said: “We’re delighted to be working with all four and look forward to helping them fulfil their potential as finance professionals. We take great pride in our efforts to help trainees get to the next level by giving them the practical experience they need to achieve their goals.”

Infinity invests a five-figure sum each year in the training and development of its team.

Greg was named accountancy professional of the Year at the 2018 IRIS Customer Awards and is also the chair of the ACCA Aberdeen and North of Scotland Network.

Infinity Partnership won two accolades at the 2020 IRIS Customer Awards in February. Simon Cowie, managing partner at the Aberdeen practice, won Accountancy Professional of the Year, while the entire Infinity team collected the Client Excellence Firm of the Year Award. This latest success follows on from winning at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards for the fifth year in a row in September 2019.

Infinity, which has a UK-wide client base, is recognised for its accountancy, research and development tax relief, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance expertise. More than 80% of its clients are involved in the energy sector.
