Infinity Partnership go head to head at awards

Infinity Partnership has been recognised for recent successes with two members of its team shortlisted for a UK accountancy award.

Simon Cowie and Greg Houston will battle it out for Accountancy Professional of the Year on Tuesday, February 11 at the 2020 IRIS Customer Awards. Three accountants in total have been shortlisted for the award. Greg won the accolade on the previous occasion the awards were held.

In addition, Infinity Partnership has been nominated in the Client Excellence Firm of the Year category. The business is the only Scottish practice to be shortlisted in the accountancy section of these awards.

Managing partner Simon has led the growth of the Carden Place firm, supported the next generation of accountants and played a key role in raising £95,000 for 10 new dialysis machines for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility ethos.

Associate director Greg Houston was appointed the chair of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Aberdeen and North of Scotland Network in November 2019 and has helped the company gain platinum employer status for Trainee Development by ACCA.

Infinity picked up four accolades at the previous IRIS awards event and won at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards for the fifth year in a row in September 2019.

Simon said: “The IRIS nominations are recognition for what has been another outstanding period for us. An individual award, regardless of who wins, would be a tremendous achievement for the business. In addition, being shortlisted for the Client Excellence Award is particularly satisfying as we pride ourselves on customer engagement and commitment to the client.”

Infinity, which has a UK-wide client base, is recognised for its accountancy, research and development tax relief, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance expertise. More than 80% of its clients are involved in the energy sector.

IRIS is the UK’s largest privately held software firm. It supports more than 80,000 businesses with a range of functions including accountancy, payroll and HR.
