The most current and comprehensive information on the UK oil and gas fabrication sector is now available in the 2016 Offshore Fabricators Directory which Oil & Gas UK publishes today (March 15). Featuring 12 different companies spread throughout the UK from Falmouth in Cornwall to Arnish in the Scottish Highlands, the directory contains information on the capacity of yards along with details of capabilities relating to the fabrication of platforms, subsea installations and mobile structures including floating, production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs).

Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK’s operations director, said: “The industry faces tough challenges in the current economic climate and is channelling its collective energies into making efficiency improvements to restore competitiveness to the UK Continental Shelf. In the latest Fabricators Directory, it is evident that a number of fabricators have identified opportunities for adjusting to different market needs leading them to develop new capabilities and extend capacity.”

Ms Werngren adds: “The aim of the directory is to highlight the impressive amount of knowledge and expertise which has built up within the fabrication sector over the last 40 years. By highlighting these capabilities and raising the visibility of UK fabricators within the global market place, Oil & Gas UK along with the Oil and Gas Authority is supporting the drive to secure an enduring future for a key sector in the industry’s supply chain.”
