An Aberdeen-based independent financial services firm has made a double key appointment to strengthen its workforce, following an increase in demand for its services during the past twelve months.
Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd, which was established in 2011, has appointed Kevin Philip as mortgage adviser, and has promoted Rebecca Shiel from administrator to office manager.
Mr Philip, 32, joins the award-winning team after a change in career. Kevin, who has worked in the oil and gas sector for a number of years, gained his mortgage adviser accreditation within the space of three months, and joined the firm soon after.
In his role at Phil Anderson Financial Services, which employs a team of seven spread across its offices in Aberdeen, Ellon and Caithness, he will be primarily responsible for mortgages and protection.
Mrs Shiel, who has worked for the company for four and a half years, has been a huge influence in bolstering the company’s profit margins and increasing its client base.
Phil Anderson Financial Services, which specialises in mortgages, insurance, investments and pensions, has a strong focus on staff development and was recently named the winner of the Best Customer Service category by the Best of Business Awards 2015.
Phil Anderson, managing director of Phil Anderson Financial Services, commented: “Kevin and Rebecca bring an abundance of talent to the business and I am delighted to have both on board.
“Kevin is a huge benefit to the team due to his outstanding ability to process numbers. He has shown true determination to get into this industry after putting himself through his mortgage adviser exams and passing them all on his first sitting in record time, which is extremely rare in this industry. His extensive knowledge of the financial and business sector is extremely promising for the business’ future development.
“Rebecca’s appointment will ensure the business is focused going forward and will safe-guard and heighten the level of service we can provide to our clients. She is a fantastic member of the team and has been instrumental in building the business up over the past few years.”
