The Igbo Community Aberdeen, under the leadership of Edward Obi - Ike Ora Nyelu, director of HR Hub Plus Limited, met with the Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Dr. David Cameron, in his office on Tuesday for a significant follow-up visit.

This meeting continues the recognition and honour bestowed upon the Lord Provost earlier this year, where he was named Enyi Ndi Igbo (Friend of the Igbo) by the Igbo Community Aberdeen.

The delegation, which included Women Leader Mrs. Nkem Nwobi and members of the executive and wider community, discussed the importance of fostering cultural exchange and enhancing collaborative efforts between the Igbo Community and the city of Aberdeen.

The recognition of Dr. Cameron as Enyi Ndi Igbo highlights the strong and positive relationship between the Igbo community and the city of Aberdeen. This visit provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on future collaborations and initiatives aimed at fostering cultural unity and inclusivity within the city.

Edward Obi, leader of the Igbo Community Aberdeen, remarked on the importance of this relationship: "Aberdeen has been a welcoming home to the Igbo community, and we are committed to contributing to the city's diversity and cultural richness. Our meeting with the Lord Provost was a reaffirmation of the strong ties between our community and the city’s leadership."

The Lord Provost, in receiving the delegation, expressed his appreciation for the community’s continued engagement and contribution to the multicultural fabric of Aberdeen.

This meeting signifies the shared commitment to building stronger bridges between communities in Aberdeen, promoting diversity, and ensuring inclusion for all cultural groups within the city.
