A historic banking hall on Union Street in Aberdeen has been put up for sale with a price tag of £300,000.
The Royal Bank of Scotland closed its Granite Mile branch in November and all of its interiors and ATMs have since been stripped out.
The five-storey listed granite masterpiece is one of the most prominent on Union Street, and the bank is now looking to offload the building.
There has been no indication what the former flagship branch could be turned into, but property agents Culverwell say the building offers a wide-range of opportunities.
These include converting the building into a restaurant or flats – which has previously proved to be a favourable option for other bank premises across Aberdeen.
The Press & Journal reports that there are already two interested parties, with several viewings planned for next week. Our Union Street leader Bob Keiller hopes this means the vacant unit could be revived quicker that they might have expected.
