i-Protech’s electrical manager Mike Cruickshank is ‘Mr September’ after a photo he took was selected as one of the 12 winners of Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group’s 2025 calendar photography competition.

Mike’s photo showcases a new energy efficient "off grid" property just outside Keig and looks across the Howe of Alford.

Installed by i-Protech in April 2023, the large ground-mounted PV array and the two smaller roof-mounted arrays, which feed a 16kW solar PV system coupled to 20kW of batteries, provide most of the power requirements to the new-build home, which is self-sufficient throughout the year.

The AREG competition was open to amateur photographers from throughout the North-east, who were invited to submit their photos best representing the theme, ‘renewable energy around the clock’.

Each of the images will also be displayed at Aberdeen Science Centre throughout the year.

A leading provider of green energy products, Kintore-based i-Protech is one of the North-east's foremost specialist designers and installers of solar panels, storage battery systems and EV chargers, as well as electrical, security, and fire systems.
