The Energetica Summer Festival, celebrating the beauty and variety of the Energetica Corridor has been hailed a success after the programme of events was enjoyed by people from far and wide.

Local residents and visitors from across the UK to as far afield as Canada joined in the various family friendly events on offer. In its third year, the Energetica Summer Festival has grown from a single weekend of events into a summer long series of activities. The line-up included guided walks and wildlife spotting, to a Farmers’ Market, brewery tour and film screening.

Running from May through to August, hundreds of visitors attended the festival events surrounded by stunning coastal scenery and diverse wildlife showcasing the corridor from Aberdeen to Peterhead.

From the spectacular cliffs of Bullers of Buchan for wildlife spotting, and bat watching after dark at Haddo House, to a timed Bugs Count challenge with OPAL Community Scientists at the University of Aberdeen’s Cruickshank Botanic Garden, the events were enjoyed by people of all ages.

Energetica, Scotland’s Energy Corridor stretches from the Bridge of Don in Aberdeen, north to Peterhead and west to the Aberdeen International Airport. Energetica works to promote the area to both investors and visitors alike showcasing the best of the high quality natural environment as well as development and investment opportunities to consolidate the region’s position as the Energy Capital of Europe as well as an attractive place to live and work.

Energetica Development Manager James Welsh said: “This year’s Energetica Summer Festival events showcased the diversity of the Corridor and the abundance of activities, wildlife and scenery it has to offer.

“I’m delighted that we’ve seen the event grow year on year to now have a summer long Energetica Festival attracting so many visitors from both the local area and further afield who are keen to experience what this area has to offer.
