Around 500 industry professionals and academic delegates from the clean and renewable energy industry are expected to descend on Aberdeen for the International Conference on Clean Energy (ICCE).
The impact of clean energy on the environment and the fundamental knowledge about the clean energy processes will be explored at the annual conference, which will be held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) on 14-17 August.
Associate Dean for Research at Robert Gordon University’s Aberdeen Business School Professor David Gray was fundamental in securing the conference bid for the north-east, with additional support from TeamAberdeen – a collaboration of expertise from Aberdeen City and Shire Councils, The University of Aberdeen, AECC, Aberdeen International Airport, RGU and VisitAberdeenshire.
Prof David Gray, who is also the Conference Chair, said: “To bring such a prestigious international event to Aberdeen is a real coup for the city and for RGU and I am extremely proud that the events team will be playing host to several hundred academics who are experts in the field of alternative energy.”
Aberdeen City Council Leader Councillor Jenny Laing said: “The city is already capitalising on its world-renowned engineering expertise by moving into clean and sustainable energy, and the City Council has furthered that knowledge base by investing in hydrogen-powered buses and vehicles.
“We look forward to welcoming the companies and delegates from around the globe who will be attending the conference in our beautiful city.”
