North-east shoppers are being encouraged to visit an exclusive pop-up department store dedicated to buying and selling high-end items of ladies clothing.

Building on the popularity of Vinted and other online marketplaces, Repeat Boutique promises luxury fashion items at affordable prices while encouraging sustainability and supporting local sellers.

Located at collABZ within the former Debenham’s store at the Trinity Centre, the inaugural event is organised by local charity WeToo! and takes place from 10am until 3pm on Saturday, August 24.

There will be a team of volunteers on-hand to assist customers while selling on behalf of each trader, something which differentiates Repeat Boutique from other events of its kind.

WeToo! helps empower the parents and carers of children with disabilities and additional support needs, including hosting a dedicated sensory area within the Trinity Centre which is open to the public seven days a week and will be manned throughout the event.

Brands such as Boden, Coast, Joules and Seasalt will be available along with the chance to uncover some rare designer labels – with 25% of each sale benefiting WeToo! and any unsold items returned to each seller.

Each seller adheres to strict guidelines to ensure that only high-end, quality clothing and accessories will be showcased. Garments will be sorted by size on rails to minimise rummaging, while unlike online platforms, people can also try outfits on before they decide to buy.

Phionna McInnes, founder and CEO of WeToo!, commented: “We’re excited to bring a real-life version of Vinted to the people of Aberdeen, introducing a unique way to buy and sell unwanted ladies clothing with a focus on quality and sustainability.

“Repeat Boutique provides local people with the chance to uncover one-of-a-kind items or a special outfit for their next big occasion, while supporting others in the community.

“We are incredibly grateful to the team at the Trinity Centre for their continued support and we look forward to a great turnout from the people of the north-east to help make this fundraising event a great success.”

Founded in 2015, WeToo! produces a free quarterly magazine for families of children with additional support needs, which is distributed throughout Aberdeen City and Shire. The charity also hosts numerous ‘relaxed sessions’ across the area, allowing full, inclusive participation in activities that may ordinarily be difficult to access.
