Delegates registering for Oil & Gas UK’s 2015 Share Fair at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 4 are snapping up slots for the one-to-one sessions at what is widely considered the industry’s foremost business development event of the year.

Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, said: “In response to the tough economic conditions the industry is facing, Oil & Gas UK is doing all it can to drive increased co–operation to help the sector improve its efficiency. The one to one sessions provide suppliers with invaluable opportunities to hold detailed, face-to-face discussions with key decision-makers from around 20 purchaser companies including operators and major contractors.

The supply chain plays a key role in helping industry address its efficiency challenges so these meetings are a highly effective mechanism for enabling suppliers to gain access to potential clients, which is a priority our membership has identified. Through these conversations, suppliers will be able to share insight with major purchasers into how existing activities could be carried out in a more efficient and less costly way.

“This year’s Share Fair is a major platform for kicking off the new way of doing business. The emphasis is on encouraging purchasers to articulate to the supply chain where expertise and knowledge are needed to develop the products and services they require.

Opportunities to generate closer alignment include bringing the supply chain in at an earlier stage of project planning as well as increasing the transparency of data and information and we believe Share Fair is the ideal arena for these constructive conversations to begin.”

While delegates need to act quickly to book one to one appointments, Oil & Gas UK’s Share Fair also gives attendees the opportunity to be among the first to hear from major operators and contractors about their strategies for future projects in the North Sea. Representatives from AMEC Foster Wheeler, BP, ConocoPhillips, EnQuest, Nexen, Petrofac, Shell U.K., Talisman Sinopec, Total E&P Limited and Wood Group PSN will each deliver eight presentations throughout the day.

With the event opening at 7am and featuring plenty of networking opportunities and an extensive exhibition area, Share Fair will provide participants with many ways to forge new ways of working together towards securing a sustainable long term future for the UK oil and gas industry.
