Grampian Housing Association is currently seeking to recruit volunteers to join the Board of Kirkgate Developments. As a subsidiary of Grampian Housing Association, a major charity and social enterprise, Kirkgate’s aim is to generate income that can then be gifted to the parent charity in support of its charitable objectives.
It is an exciting time for Kirkgate Board Members; the Company’s portfolio includes housing for rent as well as a health centre and is currently expanding its market rent activity and developing much needed housing for key workers in health and industry.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in shaping an effective response to a challenging future and a chance for you to share your expertise.
Grampian Housing Association, in conjunction with its subsidiary Kirkgate Developments, is a leading provider of housing and related services across three local authority areas and a range of tenures throughout the North-east of Scotland. With over 3500 homes under management, it has an annual turnover in excess of £16m and is a registered social landlord with the Scottish Housing Regulator.
The organisation is looking for new members with ambition and an interest in helping Kirkgate and its parent organisation achieve their aims and objectives, and wants to hear from you if you feel you can promote Kirkgate’s vision, or have skills in any of the following fields:
- The ability to think creatively in a challenging or constrained environment.
- Experience of delivering business.
- A background in non-social property letting
- Business start-up and diversification
- Development and innovation experience
- Entrepreneurial flair

What’s in it for you?
As a voluntary position it will not be paid but travel and other expenses for attendance at meetings can be claimed. You will also benefit from an ongoing programme of training.
Your commitment
You will need to commit to attending up five board meetings per year held in Aberdeen (usually in the evening). In addition, board members are asked to participate in regular training sessions.
