Offshore Helicopter Services UK (OHSUK) has been presented with the bronze award after signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant.
Members of the armed forces visited the firm’s headquarters in Aberdeen to present the award in the same week as people the length and breadth of the country marked Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
The pledge commits OHSUK to be part of a promise from the nation that those who serve in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
Several of OHSUK’s staff are current or former armed forces personnel.
Andrew Rodden, OHSUK managing director, said: “We are proud and honoured to receive this bronze award.
“With current and former armed forces personnel among our staff, we are acutely aware of the importance of the covenant, which recognises the value those who serve contribute not only to our business but also our country.
“Receiving this award shows our support and commitment to our armed forces and their families.”
OHSUK provides safe and reliable offshore helicopter transportation for North Sea workers, as well as providing a round-the-clock Search and Rescue service, supporting up to 10,000 workers in the harshest of working environments.
The Armed Forces Covenant states the bronze award is given to employers who pledge their intention to take a positive stance towards reserves, cadet force adult volunteers and veterans who are either existing or prospective employees.
Bronze award holders also seek to promote an armed forces friendly position and are open to employing reservists and supporting their training and mobilisation commitments.
OHSUK is part of the Ultimate Aviation Group.
