Students and staff at Robert Gordon University (RGU) will be encouraged to eat healthy foods as part of a week-long campaign.
Aramark, the university’s catering provider has re-launched its MADE ‘Healthy for Life’ programme today (Monday, February 1) which offers healthy options and information at each of its outlets across Garthdee and online.
A new video featuring a number of events on campus in 2015 has been produced to launch the programme and promote healthy eating.
MADE will also feature on RGU Radio this week to promote healthy living and a special Vegan recipes blog post.
The campaign is linked to the university’s Fit for the Future initiative which adopts a whole system approach to support health and wellbeing across campus.
Fraser Adam, Aramark's Group Catering Manager at RGU, said: "The ‘Healthy for Life’ campaign was very successful when it was rolled out in 2015 and we’re delighted to bring it back to Robert Gordon University this year.
“Healthy eating is very important to our customers across campus and we are proud to play our part by providing healthy meals, using the best ingredients, each and every day.”
MADE will have a stall on University Street all week to promoting healthy eating at RGU. It will be located next to the street food cart which will be serving new Lebanese food.
During the Refreshers Fayre, MADE will serve free pancakes and work alongside the Vegan and Vegetarian Society to promote Vegan and Vegetarian cuisine at the university. MADE will also announce new discounts for the month of February.
MADE and the society are conducting a joint survey to gather student and staff feedback regarding the possibility of wider diet options available at RGU. The survey is available online at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WP5PSH8
MADE staff will also be working with the brand ‘Savse Smoothie’ during the Fayre to hand out free samples of the new smoothies which are available now on campus.
