Local relationship bank, Handelsbanken, has recently announced the promotion of Steve Rae to Branch Manager at their successful Aberdeen & Dundee branch following the retirement of Neil Clark.

With 35 years’ experience in banking and firm roots in the local community, Steve will lead an established team of 10 bankers responsible for meeting the individual and corporate banking needs of their customers in and around Aberdeen City & Shire, Angus, Dundee and the East Neuk of Fife.

The branch has developed a reputation for high levels of bespoke customer service delivered through long-term customer relationships; financial strength; and high standards within the local business and professional services community.

Customers are at the heart of everything Handelsbanken does. Through its decentralised model, branch colleagues are empowered to make decisions on behalf of the Bank, which enables them to take responsibility and ensure that they use their local knowledge and expertise to ensure their customers continue to receive outstanding service. Each customer is provided with their own designated relationship manager, whether that be for personal banking (lending, deposits and wealth management), regulated mortgages, or lending to family owned property businesses or owner managed trading businesses.

Steve Rae commented: “I’m delighted and honoured to take on the role as Branch Manager of our Aberdeen & Dundee branch. The whole team is committed to providing our customers with the best possible service as well as building our reputation and business across our personal, corporate and wealth management offering.”

Handelsbanken’s customer-centric approach has seen the Bank rated top for customer satisfaction 14 years running in an independent survey of British banks’ personal and business customers (EPSI Rating, 2009-2022). The Bank has also been named as the most recommended provider for relationship/account management for SMEs by the Competition and Markets Authority’s Independent Service Quality Survey (August 2022).
