Tidy Green Clean, the leading environmentally-friendly cleaning business that operates on a franchise model, is continuing 2020 with its commitment to growth, with the appointment of two new regional directors, including its first in England.
Alex McCarthy is the regional director for Northern England and Callum Cruickshank is regional director for Aberdeen West.
The business, positioning itself for further expansion this year, has recently had its three ISO certifications – ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental and ISO 45001 for health and safety – renewed for a further three years. The company was also acknowledged as a Recognised Service Provider of the Living Wage Foundation, in March 2020, which means the company meets the standards set by Citizens UK and the Centre for Civil Society for good practice by providers of personnel under contract and is now listed on the Living Wage website as a Recognised Service Provider.
Alex McCarthy is the first Tidy Green Clean Regional Director in England, based in Durham, and covering the Tees Valley to Northumberland region. His background includes five years with the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer and then in the energy sector – power generation; food; and the pharmaceutical industry with GSK at Castle Barnard before deciding to join TGC.
Alex says, “I was really interested in Andrew and David’s business opportunity, their ethics, ideas, operational values and the overall vision for the business and the fact that they’re great people to work with. For my area of North East England, I want to keep everything as local as possible and I am looking to support each community with real opportunities for people looking for a decent job.”
Alex will be targeting commercial cleaning contracts with office buildings, community centres, schools and nursing homes, in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, and the Tees Valley.
In Aberdeen, the third franchise for Aberdeen West has been acquired by Callum Cruickshank. With his background in the subsea, engineering and waste management industries, he is relishing the new opportunity of becoming a master franchisee and Regional Director for Tidy Green Clean offers.
Callum states, “I’ve always had the ambition to run my own business and I have watched Tidy Green Clean go from strength to strength over the past few years and that made it a straightforward decision to become part of this exciting, ethical, hardworking team. I believe in giving people a chance to prove themselves and treating people how you want to be treated, and that’s exactly the values Andrew and David espouse.” Callum will be developing the industrial and commercial opportunities that Aberdeen West offers.
Andrew Alleway, Tidy Green Clean’s managing director stated, “Our franchise offering is a unique and extremely attractive proposition that continues to draw in the right people who are willing to bring their own skill set to a business that holds exciting opportunities and rewards. 2020 has already provided a full set of its own unexpected challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic and yet our business is proving that we have the right structures, mindset and transparent business relationships able to support both our people and clients during the current situation. Bringing Alex and Callum into the Tidy Green Clean family is further demonstration of our determination to thrive and build a highly sustainable and successful business for all our stakeholders.”
Tidy Green Clean is the leading environmentally-focused national franchise cleaning operation for blue-chip organisations, and provides franchisees and master franchisees with the knowledge, training and support to be successful business owners, making the business model unique within the facilities management industry.
