An organisation which has helped promote links between the North-east and Houston is winding up after 45 years.
The Grampian-Houston Association (GHA) is set to cease after nearly half a century of bridging the the two cities together.
Dubbed the "energy capital of the world," Houston was linked to the Grampian region in 1979 to help foster links between the oil and gas industries and promote the relationship between the two cities.
However, it has been confirmed that the Grampian-Houston Association (GHA) will no longer exist.
GHA’s secretary William Neish told The Press and Journal: “Unfortunately its sister organisation the Houston-Grampian Association did not survive the Covid closedown and this has made it difficult for GHA to continue to function effectively.
He added: “The decision was taken to wind up the organisation and this process is now in hand.”
