Global elite athletics training academy joins forces with leading Aberdeen sports facility

A global elite athlete coaching and training academy, has officially launched its latest development in the UK, expanding its UK division into Aberdeen.

ALTIS, a leading coaching, educational and training establishment which was launched to help shape the careers of the best athletes in the world, and to build championship athletes, has expanded its UK division by announcing Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) as its latest European training facility.

Built to bring track and field training back to global prominence,

ALTIS hosts a number of training camps, apprentice coach programmes and performance therapy camps to help improve elite track and field athletes’ performance

In conjunction with five established Aberdeen-based partners, the inception of ALTIS Aberdeen heralds a significant step for the US-based company, as it expands its provision into Europe. With sites already in the USA, Canada and China – the latest UK based partnership serves to underpin the huge growth ALTIS has achieved over the past three years.

Based at ASV, the city’s premier sporting facility unrivalled in terms of sporting provision in Scotland, ALTIS Aberdeen will be host to an array of world class sporting facilities - including an indoor 135m six-lane running straight, and full indoor track and field provision.

Chief executive of Aberdeen Sports Village, Duncan Sinclair, said: “Aberdeen Sports Village is delighted with the announcement of the ALTIS Aberdeen partnership. ALTIS has an international standing in the athletics community and our city should be very proud that we have secured this endorsement. Being associated with an international athletics brand that has a reputation for delivering success is a huge boost for ASV, as well as our athletics partners, Hydrasun.

ALTIS Aberdeen will be facilitated through strategic partnerships with Aberdeen Sports Village, The University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon’s University, SPEAR Physiotherapy, and Aberdeen Amateur Athletic Club.

President of Aberdeen Amateur Athletic Club, Mark Davidson, commented: “The partnership with ALTIS heralds a new and exciting future for athletics in Aberdeen. The opportunity for the club to work with the world renowned team from ALTIS will be the catalyst to help us all move to the next level.
“Everyone here is delighted to be able to work with such a complementary range of partners, and look forward to seeing the progress in the local community that this partnership will undoubtedly bring.”

This latest expansion to grow and develop professionally driven track and field athletes in Europe, will attract new elite talent to Aberdeen as a result of ASV boasting world-class facilities.
