Get behind the daffodil this March for Marie Curie

Marie Curie is asking the people of Aberdeen City and the shire to get behind the daffodil this March and take part in their Great Daffodil Appeal, which launched locally last weekend.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest fundraising campaign which takes place throughout March. The charity asks people to make a donation in return for a daffodil pin. All funds raised help Marie Curie Nurses provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones, in their own homes.

Lauren Edwards, community fundraiser, Marie Curie said: “We are calling on the people of Aberdeen City and the shire to get behind the daffodil in March for the 30th annual Great Daffodil Appeal. Help us raise more money than ever before by simply giving a donation and wearing a Marie Curie daffodil pin. Every penny donated helps Marie Curie Nurses provide free care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.”

Fiona Fraser, local Marie Curie supporter said: ‘Marie Curie Nurses supported our family before my dad died. Their support was amazing and they helped us make the most of our time together, we couldn’t have done it without them. Please donate to the appeal so more people can benefit from their support”.

You can make a donation and receive a pin from one of several volunteer collectors across the UK or in Superdrug, WH Smiths Marie Curie shops and Wyevale Garden Centres throughout March. You can also pledge £5, by texting DAFF to 70111*.
