Footballer and entrepreneur Gary Neville has been added to the line-up for Aberdeen’s Ultimate Masterclass Festival.
The Sky Sports pundit will headline the Music Halll in March as part of the year-long series, organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) alongside series partner TotalEnergies.
He will join documentary maker Louis Theroux, TV presenter Davina McCall and artificial intelligence expert Nina Schick in a line-up designed to draw thousands of people to the city’s Union Street.
All 1,400 tickets for Louis Theroux sold out within 48-hours and organisers are expecting similar demand for Gary Neville tickets, which are on sale now at umf.events.
Gary is one of the most decorated English and European footballers of all time, having won no less than twenty trophies, including eight Premier League titles and two of the prestigious Champions League titles.
He spent his entire playing career with Manchester United, a so-called one-club man, part of the legendary line-up that also included David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona – led, of course, by Aberdeen legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
Away from the beautiful game, his booming business empire is as impressive as it is vast, spanning the worlds of sport, academia, media, real estate and place making.
Ryan Crighton, Policy & Marketing Director at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said: “Hot on the heels of two big announcements, we are delighted to confirm that Gary Nevlille will be joining us in March.
“The Ultimate Masterclass Festival was created to inspire our business community, and to support the recovery of the city centre with exciting events – and this ticks all the boxes.
“We are delighted to be adding Gary to the line-up and cannot wait to hear about his stories of his life as an elite sportsman and investor – and of course about his apprenticeship under Sir Alex.
“He is relentless and operates at an elite level in every industry he enters, which takes a special level of talent and drive.
“It is going to be fantastic to unpack his career at what is a rare opportunity to spend an evening with one of the most fascinating public figures in the UK today. Do not miss it.”
Gary, Davina, Louis and Nina are among six acts who will headline events scheduled throughout 2024 to boost footfall in Aberdeen City Centre.
More than 4,000 people attended the UMF series in 2023, which was headlined by ‘Diary of a CEO’ star Steven Bartlett and ‘How to Fail’ podcaster Elizabeth Day.
Over 5,000 tickets will be available for the expanded 2024 series, which is part of a £300,000 investment by the Chamber as a founding partner of the Our Union Street organisation.
Tickets for Davina McCall (sponsored by CALA), Nina Schick (sponsored by Mearns & Gill and Solab / Ascot Lloyd) and Gary Neville (Sponsored by Fifth Ring, Appetite for Busines and SCF Partners) – are on sale now at umf.events.
