Scarf is playing its part in delivering warmer homes in two Aberdeen communities with Home Energy Efficiency Programme Scotland: Area Based Schemes (HEEPS:ABS).
Aberdeen City Council has continued to back the scheme under its commitment to reduce levels of fuel poverty and carbon emissions from its housing stock across the city.
The latest offer, with funding from the Scottish Government, will provide free loft, cavity wall and underfloor insulation to householders in the Garthdee and Kaimhill areas in Aberdeen.
Councillor Jean Morrison, who launched the scheme at Inchgarth Community Centre, said: “Together with the free energy efficiency measures like cavity, loft and underfloor insulation, alongside energy advice, householders can save money on their bills.”
Martin Hall, co-ordinating the scheme at Scarf, added: “Greater levels of insulation will mean more comfortable and warmer homes for the people of Garthdee and Kaimhill, and we encourage them to take up this offering.”
Everwarm is contracted to commence insulation works this autumn through to February next year.
Scarf will support the scheme by offering householders information about its benefits, as well as further energy efficiency advice. Residents can call Home Energy Scotland, delivered by Scarf in the north east, on freephone 0808 808 2282, or email warmeraberdeen@scarf.org.uk
