Aberdeen-based Concept Promotional Merchandise has strengthened its charity links by kitting out a local organisation with recycled fabric beanies – with a rush placed on the order to support one woman’s fearless trek to the summit of the world’s highest mountain.
Working closely with Friends of ANCHOR, Concept worked on the brief to supply warm winter headgear for the charity’s community, with the custom-made hats achieving new heights on Mount Everest.
One of the charity’s fundraisers, Aberdeen personal trainer Lee Donald, became only the second Aberdonian woman and the seventh Scottish woman to summit Mount Everest, all while proudly wearing the Concept supplied ‘Friends of ANCHOR beanie to the top.
Friends of ANCHOR is dedicated to providing the best possible treatment, care, and support to cancer and haematology patients locally by fundraising for research, equipment, and well-being initiatives. To support their fundraising efforts the charity organises the ‘Courage on the Catwalk’ and ‘Brave’ catwalk events, during which the beanies also made a stylish debut.
Concept, led by managing director Robert Christie, has been bringing brands to life for the past 26 years.
“As a company based in the heart of the city, we were delighted to be able to provide Friends of ANCHOR with practical, warm headgear that everyone will appreciate – whether in Aberdeen in the winter or on the top of Mount Everest,” said Bob.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to support the work of Friends of ANCHOR as they support those whose lives are affected by cancer.”
