Craigdon Mountain Sports to close Inverurie store
An outdoor clothing and equipment store in Inverurie will soon close its doors, it has been confirmed.
Craigdon Mountain Sports on the town’s High Street will permanently close at the end of March.
The locally-owned business shared the news with customers in a social media post on Thursday evening.

Aberdeenshire farmer to take union’s tax fight to London
NFU Scotland (NFUS) president Andrew Connon will meet Treasury officials in London on Tuesday as momentum behind the campaign to #StopTheFamilyFarmTax continues to build.
The UK’s farming unions are united in their opposition to the proposed changes to agricultural and business property reliefs announced in Autumn Budget on October 30.
Brought forward with no industry consultation, the changes are due to take effect from April 6 2026.

Barclays under investigation over money-laundering controls
Barclays is under investigation for potentially breaking anti-money laundering rules in a fresh setback for the bank.
On Thursday, the bank said the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) was examining whether financial controls at its UK division had been too lax and if the lender had broken anti-money laundering laws.
“The FCA’s investigation focuses primarily on the historical oversight and management of certain customers with heightened risk,” it said. “Barclays has been co-operating with the investigation.”
