A free redundancy drop-in session is to be hosted by Balfour+Manson, a leading Scottish law firm, on Tuesday 30th June for those affected by the oil and gas downturn.
Taking place in the firm’s Aberdeen office from 5-7pm, guests will learn about their rights if threatened with redundancy and gain valuable information and legal advice from Robert Holland, head of employment, Angela McCracken, employment solicitor and Michaela Guthrie, trainee solicitor.
Comprising of small group and private one-to-one sessions, the event aims to address key issues people are currently facing, and educate people about the full redundancy process.
Robert Holland, head of employment at Balfour+Manson, comments: “Due to the downturn in the oil and gas industry, many people are having to seek employment advice as a result of increased redundancies.. We want to support these people by providing free legal advice to help them through a very difficult, and often confusing, process.
“Our team of experts will be on-hand to answer questions and provide relevant information about redundancy, in particular redundancy pay, settlement agreements, rules for employers, alternative work and time off to search for employment or training opportunities.”
“We are looking forward to supporting people affected by the downturn, and enabling them to better understand their legal rights.”
The drop-in session is taking place in Balfour+Manson’s Aberdeen office at 38 Albyn Place, Aberdeen, and no registration is required. For more information, email robert.holland@balfour-manson.co.uk.
