“This event is designed to provide our energy sector community with some of the information, tools and support they need to lead healthier lives, both at work and at home,” says Craig Wiggins, CEO of Step Change in Safety. “To align with our Q4 Wellbeing and Work Environment theme, we have brought together experts, wellness activities, and support resources. We hope to create a space where people feel empowered to prioritise their mental and physical wellbeing with a full day dedicated to boosting these at work and in life.”
Craig continues, “We will also be sharing a high-level update on our recent Wellbeing Survey - "Where's Your Head At?" which saw 1300 responses, along with 2500+ comments from energy sector workers. These findings are currently being analysed to identify key areas where additional support and resources are needed.”
Laura Hardie, Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor at Bilfinger UK and Co-chair of the Step Change in Safety Wellbeing Workgroup, says, “Wellbeing has many aspects including mental, physical, social, financial, and work environment. These aspects are interdependent and influence each other. When one aspect of our wellbeing is out of balance, the others are affected.”
Laura continues, “As a workgroup supporting the energy industry, we aim to create a culture that prioritises wellbeing, fosters resilience, and supports our workforce's emotional, physical and psychological needs. Together, we strive to support a workforce where everyone thrives, both professionally and personally, and the Wellbeing Event supports this. We look forward to welcoming everyone for a packed day of expert speakers and interactive stalls from local communities and charities.”
