All six crew members of a Fraserburgh fishing boat are safe and well after being rescued when their boat sank.
The Broch-registered Odyssey trawler was 140 miles east of the Firth of Forth when it got into trouble around 5.30am on Tuesday morning.
Coastguard lifesavers received a distress call and and sent plane to the scene while a rescue helicopter from Norway also attended.
A broadcast was issued for nearby vessels to support and the crew of the stricken trawler were rescued from their lifeboat by another fishing vessel which responded.
A Coastguard statement said: "The crew was recovered safe and well from a liferaft by a fishing vessel which responded to the call for help.
"No-one was reported missing and the crew will be brought to shore by another vessel."
