Luxury Aberdeen venue The Chester Hotel is to stage a monthly meeting of gastronomic minds with the launch of a new dining club. Just 20 seats will be available at the exclusive club, where guests will enjoy a three-course fine dining menu paired with wine.

The dining club is being launched in response to an ever-increasing demand on the hotel’s two AA Rosette IX Restaurant, which is frequently booked to capacity. The monthly meeting – the first of which takes place on May 17 – will be staged in the secluded Granite Balcony adjoining the main restaurant.

The menu will change each month and will mirror the restaurant’s offering of local produce, cooked in a simple yet elegant way. Each of the three courses will be paired with a wine hand selected by Rodney Doig of award-winning fine wine retailer, WoodWinters.

Stephen Gow, general manager of The Chester Hotel, said: “In recent times Aberdeen as a whole has garnered a reputation as being a first-class foodie destination and the IX Restaurant has been at the forefront of promoting exceptional, high quality dining.

“It has become increasingly clear to us that our customers are not satisfied by only enjoying the food we serve. They are inquisitive about our food; the ethos and approach to the menu and why we select the dishes that appear on it.

“The Chester Dining Club allows us to share our passion for exceptional ingredients and beautifully cooked dishes with equally passionate customers who can enjoy the company and musings of like-minded foodies.”

The menu will be introduced at the start of the evening, with a discussion on the provenance of the ingredients. Each of the three courses will also be introduced individually so that diners can learn more about the cooking process involved.

The Chester Dining Club costs £75 per person and will meet every four weeks. The club is strictly limited to 20 places each meeting. Bookings for the fine dining experience can be made on 01224 327777.

Following its most recent inspection by the AA – which saw The Chester Hotel become the only venue in Aberdeen to achieve four-star silver status – the IX Restaurant was praised for serving enjoyable cuisine with integrity and genuine care.

In addition to its main restaurant and private dining rooms, The Chester Hotel, based in the heart of Aberdeen’s fashionable west end, has a number of function suites in which it hosts corporate and private events.
