An exclusive ladies-only event at Aberdeen’s Trinity Hall, has raised £7,500 for Scottish social care charity Cornerstone.
More than 200 guests attended the ‘Fizz Friday’ event on March 18, where they got together and enjoyed a glass or two of fizz while browsing stalls, pop-up shops and watching a fashion show.
Cornerstone provides care and support services for more than 2,600 adults, young people and children across Scotland who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health problems and other support needs.
The proceeds from the event will go towards Cornerstone Connections, which is designed to help and support young people aged 14-16 in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area to become more active on a social and personal level.
Lisa Duthie, Fundraising Director at Cornerstone, said: “Our Fizz Friday event was a huge success and everyone who attended really dug deep and helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for our Cornerstone Connections service.
“A lot of those supported by our Connections service can find it difficult to take part in social activities. As a result, they can all too easily miss out on simple but essential social experiences most of us would like our children to enjoy.
“All of the money raised will go towards providing everyday activities which some of us may take for granted, but will mean a great deal to the people we support.
“We would like to say a big thank you to our event sponsors Steven McKnight of St James's Place Wealth Management and the Association of the Seven Trades, the exhibitors, event volunteers and of course all of our guests who came along to support Cornerstone.
