Filpumps Ltd, a leading provider of pumps and water treatment services, has announced the expansion of its operations into the central belt thanks to a £550,000 loan from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The funding has been used to purchase a new premises at Bridgend Industrial Estate, Kinross, marking a significant milestone in the company's strategic expansion.

This move is expected to create three new jobs initially, with around three further opportunities anticipated in 2025 as operations ramp up.

With over three decades of experience, Filpumps has built a strong reputation in the industry, providing sales and service support to private water supply owners, including drilling new boreholes and enhancing existing water supplies.

The company also offers a comprehensive range of products including pumps, filters, tanks, waste water treatment solutions, fittings and parts.

Founded 32 years ago, Filpumps has predominantly served customers in Aberdeenshire, with 80% of its business concentrated in the region. The expansion into Kinross aims to develop the company’s geographical reach, bringing its services to customers across Scotland.

Filpumps was established in 1992 to meet the market demand for a new type of pioneering pump for private water supplies. In 2011 a friendly management buy out (MBO) took place, led by General Manager, Ian Grierson, the three-man MBO enabled the founders of the business to retire.

Royal Bank of Scotland is the biggest SME lender in Scotland. Filpumps has banked with Royal Bank of Scotland since the MBO.
