The future remains bright for Aberdeen's Granite Mile as the number of empty units on the street falls again, with Our Union Street's Empty Shops Grant Scheme is hailed a "game changer".
A total of 41 empty units were counted on Union Street at the start of February, two fewer than six months ago, as work to revitalise Aberdeen's city centre continues.
However, the 41 empty ground floor units still represent a fifth (22%) of space on the street, as surveyed by property specialist FG Burnett.
The firm's managing director, Frank Noble, said: "I hear encouraging, positive feedback from parties looking to secure premises who are engaged with the city council on the Union Street Empty Shops Grant Scheme.
"That initiative has the potential to be a real game changer."
