A group of nine major festivals in Aberdeen has been shortlisted for a national arts award.
Operating under the label of Aberdeen Festivals, the group has been shortlisted for an Arts & Business Scotland Award for its partnership with VisitAberdeen.
Nominated for the International Award, the shortlist recognises VisitAberdeen’s leveraged international support for Aberdeen Festivals.
Angela Michael, Aberdeen Festivals Manager, said; “We have been working continuously for a year to target the Norwegian market with Aberdeen’s wide-ranging festival offering. VisitAberdeen has acted as a business mentor for us as they have extensive market knowledge, access and a range of proven marketing channels in Norway.”
Aberdeen Festivals has operated alongside VisitAberdeen to promote the regions festival and its cultural sector. Utilising VisitAberdeen’s market access and knowledge, the group has attended tourism trade fairs and carried out digital and print advertising across a range of channels from Airport presence in Stavanger to local radio promotion in Bergen.

The Arts & Business Scotland award ceremony, which will celebrate the most creative and innovative partnerships, will take place on Wednesday 3 February 2016, in Edinburgh.
