Michael Silva, Founder of Aberdeen-based video and marketing agency Farsight, has joined the board of trustees at Aberdeen Arts Centre - a registered charity at the heart of the city’s creative and cultural community.

With a strong background in film and storytelling, Michael’s connection to the arts started long before launching Farsight. Having supported close friends who’ve performed on the Arts Centre stage, he’s seen the power of performance to build confidence and connection.

Michael said: “Being part of the board is an opportunity to support something I’ve always valued - giving people the space to express themselves. I’ve supported close friends who’ve performed on the Arts Centre stage, and I’ve seen first-hand the confidence it’s helped them build. The Arts Centre plays a vital role in the community, and its impact is felt well beyond the stage. It’s a place where creativity thrives, stories are shared, and people grow. I’m looking forward to contributing to its future.”

The centre continues to make a lasting difference through inclusive programming, youth theatre, community productions, and accessible opportunities for people of all ages to build skills and confidence through the arts.

Michael’s appointment reflects both his creative background and his belief in the role local organisations play in shaping culture, connection, and personal growth. Through Farsight, he brings a deep understanding of storytelling and visual communication - and now lends that perspective to the future of the Arts Centre as it continues to serve the region.

Aberdeen Arts Centre’s 2025 programme is already shaping up to be an exciting one. From local theatre and live music to community productions and creative workshops, there’s something for everyone to experience and enjoy.
