Explore together the historic Cathedral of St Machar’s in the heart of Old Aberdeen during the school holidays.
Founded in 580 by an Irish priest the church grew to be a Cathedral by 1130. Being the oldest building still in present use in Aberdeen it has many stories to tell including the collapse of its central tower in 1688.
Come on a tour to find out more, hunt for shields, dress up in period costumes or get crafty with clay and pens.
Hear the magnificent Cathedral organ and have a play yourself.
On Thursday there will be an opportunity to try bell-ringing and admire the Cathedral’s ancient charters.
