Nominations have opened for the Oil & Gas UK Awards which give oil and gas companies of all sizes, as well as individuals, the opportunity to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to the industry. Shell U.K. Limited is sponsoring the Awards which will take place at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday 3 November. Nominations close on 19 August.
Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, Deirdre Michie, said: “The industry continues to face extremely tough times but it’s the people and companies who demonstrate the talent, ingenuity and commitment to turning the sector around in such demanding business conditions and helping the industry’s efforts to increase its global competitiveness. Their skills and determination have already helped drive improvements in efficiency and shown the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) is open for business and we very much look forward to recognising their outstanding contribution at the Awards in November.
“This year Oil & Gas UK is introducing a new award which celebrates those companies who champion diversity and ensure they provide their people with a more inclusive place in which to work. Other Oil & Gas UK awards focus on the themes of Workforce Engagement and Business Innovation and Efficiency. We are also pleased that the Oil and Gas Authority will again present their MER UK awards at our event, recognising as they will, innovative and sustainable ways to maximise economic recovery from the UKCS.
“The talents and skills of outstanding individuals will be celebrated in three different categories which are Apprentice of the Year; Graduate of the Year and the Mentor of the Year.”
