Members of Aberdeen-headquartered Exceed, a well management and performance improvement specialist, are delighted to have helped raise over £8,000 for cancer charity CLAN.
Last month, Well Test and Decommissioning manager John Simpson, and finance director Martin Watt undertook the NC500 Cycle Challenge, alongside friends Bruce Tait and John Brown.
Smashing their original target of £1,500, the 545 mile route was accomplished in an impressive six days. It took the fundraisers through some of the Highlands’ most scenic – and rugged – terrain which encompassed an overall climb of 35,000 ft.
John Simpson explains the impetus behind the achievement: “We were inspired to raise money for CLAN, having seen the exceptional support Bruce and his family have received during his wife’s recent illness. CLAN offers a world class range of services to those affected by cancer in the North-east of Scotland, and with running costs at over £2.5m per annum, fundraising on its behalf is crucial.
“Exceed was determined to ensure our fundraising journey got off to a great start, and we are incredibly grateful to them not only for sponsorship of our shirts, but also an additional £2,000.”
