At least £405million was expected to be spent in pubs and supermarkets for last night’s final, which saw Spain clinch the championship with a 2-1 win over England.
More than 17 million people watched the match in their local pub, bar or restaurant, with fans predicted to spend £70.5million on drinks and £54.3million on food.
