Equalizer International, world leading designer and developer of flange maintenance tools for the energy sector, will launch its newest range of tools at next week’s Offshore Europe.
The Equalizer NS NutSplitter range has been designed in response to industry calls for a more-effective tool to split nuts on flange joints both on and offshore.
The NutSplitter range, the latest addition to Equalizer’s award winning tools, introduces a number of benefits over nut splitting tools currently available on the market such as an optimised cutting head geometry which allows the NutSplitter to be used on a wide range of flange joints, many which were previously too tight for conventional nut splitters.
Designed specifically for pipe-line bolted flange joints and made of high grade materials with its hydraulic cylinder integrated into the cutting-head, size for size it is the smallest and lightest nut splitter on the market.
Innovative options include Equalizer’s integral pump unit which is built into the back end of the tool making it particularly applicable for subsea and working at height applications because it removes the need for hoses, couplings and separate hydraulic-pumps.
In addition to being cost-effective and efficient, the NutSplitter also meets Equalizer’s criteria for designing and developing tools which are safer to use and it has been built around an integrated steel shroud which encloses the cutting zone to protect against flying particles and a high strength composite handle for vibration and shock isolation.
“We are delighted to bring this new tool to market at this time,” said John Morgan, MD of Equalizer International. “Offshore Europe is a great showcase for innovation and the NutSplitter launch follows on from the launch of our SWi range of wedges at OE in 2013. These are now in use around the world and this new addition to our product range is already attracting global interest.
“At a time when the industry is looking at cost reduction while maintaining safety standards, the NutSplitter provides an answer for a particular maintenance issue that is efficient, cost-effective and safer than existing solutions.”
Equalizer International will be exhibiting the NutSplitter and the next generation of some of its existing tools on Stand 4D41 at Offshore Europe.
