Preparations are in full swing for the Aberdeen & Northern Marts' 36th annual Anniversary Show and Sale of Store Cattle.
Sponsored by local hauliers Thomsons of Sauchen, the event will be held at Thainstone Centre on Friday January 3 2025. The show will begin at 8:30am, followed by the sale at 10am, with the presentation of prizes scheduled for 12 noon.
Entries for the show and sale closed on Monday, December 30 with approximately 1,000 cattle expected from across the region.
This year’s pre-sale show will be judged by Fraser McEwan of West Mains of Collieston, Arbroath. A familiar face at the Thainstone ringside, Fraser brings a wealth of experience and a keen eye for quality cattle.
John Angus, head of livestock said: “We are looking forward to kicking off 2025 with the annual anniversary sale here at Thainstone, where we will showcase one of the finest selection of top-quality store cattle. After a strong trading period for finished cattle, buyers will be out in force to replenish their stock, and we fully anticipate a strong trade for all classes.
"We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and also our long-standing event sponsor Thomsons of Sauchen.”
