EnerMech announces the appointment of Chetan Bhat as global chief information officer (CIO), a newly created role
aimed at driving the company’s business systems and digital strategy across the
enterprise.
Chetan will focus on optimising operations and enhancing customer
experience through innovative technology solutions.
Chetan is a former CIO with more than 20 years’ IT leadership experience working for
organisations in the energy, technology and manufacturing sectors.
He most
recently created and implemented a multi-year comprehensive IT strategy roadmap
for oil and gas operator Maverick Natural Resources to improve their governance
process for technology investments. This included advising the executive
leadership team on company-wide IT needs, risks, and expenditure.
His progressive
career experience includes serving in senior IT leadership roles at Roper
Technologies (ESCG), and various GE companies, including Oil & Gas,
Security, Commercial Finance, and Aero Energy.
Chetan holds a Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from
Bombay University, serves as a current board member of the Society of
Information Management (SIM)-Houston, and is also an active member of the CIO
Leadership Network and Project Management Institute.
'Forefront of our industry'
In his new role at EnerMech, Chetan will report directly to
EnerMech’s chief transformation officer (CTO) Jose Xavier. His responsibilities
will include overseeing IT governance, security, and risk management,
ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing IT best practices across the
organisation.
Chetan will also lead digital transformation initiatives, manage
the IT budget and oversee IT vendor relationships, aligning with EnerMech’s
long-term goals.
Chetan succeeds John Clark, who served as interim IT director
and has been with EnerMech for 13 years. John will continue to support the
company’s strategic initiatives in his new role as transformation director.
