A leading North-east HR firm has added to its management team as it continues to strengthen services across Scotland.
Empire HR, which has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness, has appointed Claire Buchan as its business development manager to support the firm’s growing number of clients across Scotland.
The firm, which provides HR and employment law services, has also recently expanded its employment law team due to the significant growth in customer enquiries resulting from the downturn in the oil and gas industry.
Mrs Buchan, 37, has strong knowledge of HR operational and strategic requirements, gained from working in close partnership with HR and business leadership teams. She spent a total of eight years with recruitment specialist Thorpe Molloy Recruitment, where she was key in establishing the HR specialism.
Mrs Buchan also previously held the post of commercial development manager with Banff & Buchan College helping to the organisation to develop its commercial arm.
From Aberdeenshire, Mrs Buchan trained as a journalist at Aberdeen College and is now adding to her qualifications by undertaking a Business Management Degree at Robert Gordon University.
She will use her experience to help support Empire’s wide range of clients, as well as using her HR and business knowledge to communicate the range of services Empire has to offer ensure.
She said: “Empire has a unique proposition where clients can access a variety of professional services in one phone call, from employment law to mediation, from business realignment to contract details. I am looking forward to helping clients tap into this knowledge, to help protect their businesses for the long term.”
Empire CEO, Steve Cook, said: “Claire has great experience on working with different businesses and their HR requirements, which make her ideally suited to Empire. Her appointment is key to the company as we continue to expand our services, while building up the strength of our employment law team.”
